Seems I have a warped rotor (shimmy in steering under brakes), and the rotors look to be getting on the thin side so I want to replace them. Only problem is I dont know what they are off...

The struts are 240K, the calipers are S12+8 Landcruiser, and the rotors are 250mmX20mm. The calipers look to be spaced back with a washer about 2mm thick. Anyone know this setup/can tell me what rotors they should be?
FWIW the previous owner said they were Prairie, and the engineers report says Pintara, but no specifics.

I was under the impression that verada rotors were much bigger diameter and 24mm? thick, to suit the hilux surf (S13?) calipers.

yes you are right, my bad i didnt read th S12 part, just saw landcruiser caliper and went with the obvious response

I'd say go get a DBA catalogue and scour it to see what rotors suit the dimensions you mentioned

hmm I'd say about $120 each new trade or try this for about half the price. :)

From memory, R31 front rotors are integral with the hub ? ie you buy the whole hub / rotor assembly as one unit.

mmm pricey
$200 retail, $130 from a mechanic mate or $90 from repco.

Mechanic mate quoted $30 each for outer tie rod ends, repco mate said $32 retail, got them for $3.75 each :D

At that price, I'll take a dozen :chaching:

Other rotors commonly used on Hilux calipers include Honda (legend, I believe) and some Peugeot. Have a look through the cat, to confirm (I don't know whether these are used in the 20mm or 24mm calipers). Also, the rotors you have may have been machined down in diameter, so there is no direct replacement for it. I found the same about my rally car front rotors. Turned out to be a machined down Volvo 164 rotor.

At the moment I'm going with the Pintara rotors as they match the specs and it says pintara on the engineer's report. If it turns out they are something else I will be looking like an idiot for not taking a closer look :D
