Hi guys

Anyone know if there is a factory tailshaft to suit this? I've done some searching but there is so much 1600/510/etc stuff out there that I haven't been able to spot it so far.

Cheers

I have a funny idear that a 240k 2 piece tail shaft will work after you drill holes to mount the center support bearing. I done it years ago on a 1600 paddock basher running a long box, but I was young at the time so I may be wrong.

Sounds safe

I'll have the box in by the weekend and measure the tailshaft length then I guess!

Anyone had problems running a single-piece on a 1600?

1600's are all single-piece ?

Unless you mean 2-piece ?

I would have thought that paying a driveshaft place $100-odd to shorten a 1600 shaft to the correct length would be the easiest option (and not overly costly) ? My last tailshaft (cutting / welding / modifying to take replaceable uni joints / supplying replaceable uni joints / balancing / etc) only cost $300.

That was in my old paddock basher as the shortened 1600 tail shaft was going in my road car and we had that one sitting there so in it went. I have a shortened single piece one in my current 1600 and don't have any problems.

Yeah I've had a few done in the past from $150-$600 for various setups.

In this case though I'm looking for the cheapest option, figured if there was something OE that would be ideal (at least for now). My 1600 came with no tailshaft so I don't actually have a base one to modify, I had assumed they were two piece though so you learn something every day.
