I was going through an old FF mag the other day and saw a 1600 circuit car with a twin cam L20B that made about 240hp at the flywheel. At first glance I thought it was an FJ20 with carbs however they were on the wtong side. I was wondering if anyone else has seen one or knows who made them etc. I know OS Giken did a twin cam head for the L24/26 motors and the U20 had a factory twin cam. Whist on the topic of heads for the L series does anyone have any good pics or info on the FIA head??

http://www.datrats.com.au Has some information on the LZ twin cam heads. He also is rebuilding a FIA head.

Some intereting pics and reading.

I wonder if any of the twin cam motors are in Australia, Errol do you know???

Cheers,
Mal

Les Collins is currently rebuilding an LZ engine for a 710 Southern Cross Violet GT replica. This is the old Robby Thompson, Peter Lane engine that was in a 510 Under 2 litre sports sedan years ago.

There is one other LZ20B I know of in storage and also Barry Brays S12 Gazelle sports sedan that is still running in victoria.

what would be the bare minimum you would need to get one of these heads running on an L-series?
Head, cam towers, etc?......

From reading Datrats website, I think the question should be is there any chance of even finding one of these heads intact.

Cheers,
Mal

Hi guys,

In members ride under Stanza (violet), my 710sss with LZ twin cam is referenced and you can now see where Les Collins Racing is rebuilding the LZ for me.
