Nice cars dude! And nice green grass too? Where do you live that allows you to have grass that isn't dead?

Do you reccomment running head studs with compression that high? I'm considering building a motor with a similar setup. DO you have to run it on race fule or is 98 ok?

Yeah i live in warrnambool victoria, we are still getting rain on and off so the grass loves it. 8)

I think you should be right running normal head bolts, i just want to be safe
recommended torque for normal head studs is 6o ft lbs
recommended torque for ARP head studs is 80 ft lbs
quite a difference.

I dont think you will be able to run 11.2:1 on ultimate 98. I think the max is about 10.8-11:1

I will be running 85% ultimate 98 and 15% industrial toluene from shell. You can get it in 20l drums for about $50-60. This bumps the octane up to around 100-102. Quite a well known additive in race car fuel.
Formula 1 turbo engines in the 80's used to run up to 80% toluene

280ZX turbo bolts have a higher torque spec than the standard bolts. I went with these and they worked very well. You can buy them from Mr. Nissan

running a 72 degree works cam for the moment, but have made the flycuts in the pistons large enough so i can upgrade to a 74 or 76 if i can get a gearbox with good ratio's.
should still rev with the 72 though, round 7500

Yeah love my shed lurch, just the right size. Need some good machinery to fill it though. Ill post up a pic of my shed in WA to have a look at.

i do enjoy victoria although the winters are long and cold. Melbourne is great. I head up there every few weekends. The best place to live in australia i think.

Hey speedy, yeah the 1000 came out great. It is a great daily driver. Gets like 5l/100km and the moto carbies give it a nice growl. I am supprised at how well the A10 runs. I recon it would give a standard 1600 a run for its money

That is a nice shed!

WHAT?? That is nothing! Is that around town or on the freeway? I'd be guessing that it would have a 4 speed and on the freeway be revving a bit hard.

OK time for an update

Moved back to Perth from victoria. Sold my white 1600 to a guy in perth who is continuing to race it.
Time to build a new 1600. This one it going to be good!
It is going to be an improved production under 2 litre car

Got the body from perth. It was a show/drag car with a >400hp sr20. The engine blew up and so i bought it minus the engine.
It has a great body
WRX blue
r200 lsd with vs commodore cv shafts

I just got the car back from the rollcage builder. I ended up going for a comprehensive steel cage. It is build to FIA tarmac rally spec.
