Alrighty,

I'm about half way through wiring up the SR20DET into the 1600.
I've reached a stumbling block when it comes to the alternator/starter and a stupid relay that is strategically placed to piss me off.
I think it's part of a switch that was in the BorgWarner auto gearbox, that if the car wasn't in park it wouldn't start. The only thing is, I need to know how it is wired into the loom to remove it!!!

Does anyone, ANYONE!? have a wiring diagram for a 1600?
There's meant to be a real good one (in colour) on the dime quarterly. I can't seem to find it.

Can anyone help?

I'm reasonably sure that would be the START relay associated with the auto-trans INHIBITOR SWITCH.
Here is the manual trans wiring C.F. the auto trans wiring.
Retaining a START relay is a good idea actually, takes the starter solenoid current load off the ignition switch contacts and makes the start circuit much more reliable

GRAEME!!!!

Yeah I think you're smack bang on the money. I was going to just isolate the relay, and put another one in to do the same thing, but if I could figure out which wires go where, then I can remove the bits that aren't needed, and then splice in the SR loom where necessary.

Please is there any chance I can get a copy of both of those wiring loom diagrams?
I haven't seen them before.

It would help me out HEAPS!

Those are sections of the wiring diagrams in the Nissan Service Manual for the 510 Series.
Send me an email [with your email address] and I'll send you scans of the full diagrams, there are 6 different versions :?
They are all for the P[L]510 but with some weird ass coding for model ID.
You are welcome to them all, just pick and choose what circuit is suitable.

I hate using the Scientific Publication Manual diagrams, they are hopeless for detail and use unconventional symbols.
The Nissan ones are clean and simple
