Post subject:  more wheel wobble

went to the track a couple of weeks ago but afterwards i got wheel wobble.

it seems to be there at most speeds but is most noticable at higher speeds. 100km/h etc it was not doing this before going to the track.

it does seem to also get worse when i touch the brakes a bit.

this sounds like a warped disk to me but could this happen to a 22mm thick vented disk??

Did you flat spot a tyre?

Unlikely to warp a disc, and a warped disc wouldn't cause shudder / wobble. DTV (Disc thickness variation) is the cause of brake shudder, and is usually mis-diagnosed as warped brakes. This occurs due to uneven material transfer between the disc and pad (it goes both ways, depending on the pad and disc material)

Another possibility is you may have thrown a weight off a wheel too.

Is everything tight, ie bushes, ball joints etc.?

yep everything is new and tight.

just replaced a ball joint aswell thinking it was that as there was free play in the wheel.

the thing is that they were working beautifully before the track day. now its friggin awfull.

:(

Could be something as simple a losing a wheel wieght. Balance both front wheels for a start before going to far.

for diagnosis, you should run different wheels to eliminate the wheels or brakes as the problem and go from there....

yea might test the wheel balance soon. dont really know if that would be the problem if it gets worse when i lightly use the brakes but weirder stuff happens.

wheels were definately on tight. i always check this for some reason.
