Post subject:  Rear Brakes/Hand Brake

Hi

Just in the process of replacing the brake shoes on the rear on my N320 and replacing Axle seals as well.

Now I want to remove the whole brake assembly but the hand brake cable is stock on the locking plate, now how do I remove the cable from the locking plate?

or how do I remove the cable from the drums?

I've attached some photos...

And look how soaking wet the brake is from leaking oil

if you wanna just remove the cable from the plate
see that clip just knock it out with either a hammer and screwdriver or chisel and then just feed the cable through it

ok I thought its like spot welded on the bracket as I tried lightly hitting it with a flat screw driver and rubber hammer
I'll try hitting it harder tomorrow
thanks for the tip
