Im hoping Baz can answer this one as will be a pending sale for him if it works :D

I currently have Z32 NA 4 piston calipers and matching rotors.

I want to put these on my S12 since I have them and am looking to make the gazelle into a low budget track car.

Now i've read that on S12 struts, you can bolt on the Aus R31 brakes for a small upgrade, so following that, I wanted to know if struts are pretty much identical to R31, therefore I would be able to use Baz's caliper bracket and have a 4 piston caliper / rotor conversion for my S12.

Also I have 15 inch rims, does anyone know what offsets can and cant be used for this brake conversion?

Thanks guys

Martin

No Prob apart from the spring saddle they are the same as R31
the S12 strut is 15mm longer in the tube. not much in them. the R31 just saves having to shimm the Z31 insert which is whats needed for a very firm suspension. if they are 280MM rotors then TRX rims fit spot on with the S12 you would be ok with max 35 OS and any less will be fine.
with 17s u can use 40os as the dia goes down the OS must decrease.

Thanks Baz, yep i've got the 280mm rotors. Once i've finished the brakes on the 180b, then i'll grab a set of brackets for the gazelle.

Got a bit of stuff to sell so that might fund them as well :D

Baz,
would there be any advantage of changing to a r31 strut. i have s12 struts and beakes on my 1600 atm and i was going to change them to the r31 strut and get the coil over kit. is it worth changing the strut or can u do the same with both struts with brake upgrades. also will r31 shocks fi into s12 struts.

The S12s will do nicely, 15mm packer will allow R31/Z31 inserts NP.

So is it possible to buy just the mounting brackets to bolt up the 4 pots?
I can get the calipers and rotors over here. I believe there are a couple of different types of calipers/rotors that work? So will do some research on here, unless anyone can point it out quickly and save some time!
