Well one, the manifold is different - so you'd need a different or custom manifold.
And two, the carbs are too large for a 1.4ltr motor - unless your able to get the right needles... (read: doubtfull)

As Lurch said, you'll have problems getting needles to tune the 180B SSS carbs to suit your 1.4 motor.

They're not "really" SU carbs, rather a Japanese rip-off of the good old genuine British SU's. You're pretty much limited to the original jets and needles that came on Datsun's fitted with these carbs.

IF you got an inlet manifold for them, you COULD get custom needles made up for a your smaller engine, but personally I doubt it would be worth the trouble and expense.

If I wanted SU's on an A14 I'd be tempted to chase up some genuine SU's off a Mini Cooper S or some other Pommie sports car (MG perhaps ?), as you'd have more chance of tuning these for a 1.4l motor. Still be a lot of stuffing round though.

Perfect GRAMMAR TOO (and spelling  )

"really" should be "real"

"Datsun's" should be "Datsuns"

"IF" should be "If"

"Pommie" should be "shitbox"

Sorry, I couldn't help myself :P

edit: had to fix my own bad grammar :?

Akses is rumoured to be able to get bits for them......maybe :)
It's surprising what nissan sometimes has as well.
I got 2 floats for mine for $82.00 the pair.

it's a lot of work to get the jap SUs to work properly - Baz knows the in's and out's of the "good ol'" 1.5in SU...

Jaguar have SUs, as do Rover, Leyland - they're the proper Stromberg SU - not vertical slide carb that hitachi have branded SU.

you can get the A14 twin SU manifold - but for the money, bolt a single 45DCOE and manifold to the side of it.
