Media blasting for the DIYer or dipping in a bath for an alternative.
But it appears you have stripped the remainder of the shell so I guess dipping is not economical for you.

You might be able to hire a grit blaster but don't run it at higher than 100psi with #80 garnet sand.

Ummm.... Sandblasting?
It's a very hard place to get to.
You can buy a cheap sand blasting kit from supercrap or evilbay. This may get you over the line?

I've tried those gravity feed sand blasters and a few other types as well and in my opinion they just aren't up to the job. the media gets into everything, goes everywhere you don't want it too and barely removes anything other than surface rust. The one I used struggled to remove old paint. I ended up scratching mine out with a range of homemade tools made from a range of different hacksaw blades.

This loosened everything up then I treated it with rust converter and made a wire wheel/bottle brush with a flexible extension for my drill to shove up inside and clean it out again. I used my dremel alot on my car as they have a nice small flexi attachement that gets into tight spots. after that it got another rust convert and some high zinc etch, top coated seam sealer where needed then more top coat.

All depends on your air compressor and what type of garnet you use...
