Hi, As the topic suggests, how the hell do you get the bottom timing gear pully off a CA20 motor. I need to replace the front crank oil seal. I have everything off but cannot for the life of me get the pully off. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. :cheers

I've never played with a CA20, but on prettymuch every engine I've ever touched you use a gear puller to remove the harmonic balancer & the timing gear just slides off. Sometimes they are a fairly tight fit or a little sticky due to oil etc tightening up the tolerances.

Someone else might be able to shed more light but in my opinion it's just a matter of jiggling it a bit in different directions. I wouldn't be using brute force as that's not really going to be the problem IMO.
