Hi guys,

I have got a pair of R32 gtst calipers that i want to fit up to my series 2 TRX.
I have seen that i will be needing these caliper brackets from datsport http://www.datsport.com/brake-front-cal ... K3233.html
I would like to run 5 stud as apose to the original 4 stud, what hub would i need to do this?
Also is it the 280zx lower arms to provide clearance aswell??

It would be great if someone has done this and could state the steps and parts to complete this conversion as i'm not fully aware.
Your help is much appreciated.

Regards,

Ian

im pretty sure if you run a z31 front hub instead of an s12 front hub that it'l give you the 5 stud conversion

the standard disc doesn't fit it has to be machined to fit the s12 hub but im not sure if the s12 hub is the
same as the z31 Baz from datsport would know.Im in the process of making my own datsport front struts
and Baz and the team have been a great help

I looked at the Datsport way ( 4 stud, skyline strut) for my BB rally car
The Datsport way is to bolt the disc onto the rear of the hub, in which case you will need the 280zx arms or the rotors will not clear the lower control arm
and those brackets
I was advised by others not to go down this path as they alter the standard geometry of the front end,
although it does solve rim clearance on the caliper as they sit further inwards, ( Datsport drill the new discs to suit what hole pattern you want )
In the end I didn't want to fit the 280zx arms so I machined down the hub so it fitted inside the rotor, the disc was then a floating disc, I fitted small spacers to align the calipers to the disc.
This then allows you to keep the standard BB arms as the discs sit out further.
Due to the rim combo I use, I fitted longer studs and a 10mm spacer for rim clearance on the caliper
I did buy the rotors from Datsport and they were good to deal with

With the R32 conversion on BB you do not need to fit 280Z Lower arms.
Info on the web gets distorted.
Its the 280Z steering knuckles you require.
These have a different offset, moves the Rotor away from the BB LCS & increases neg camber a tad.
requires a shear ring spacer to remove the shear load on the strut to ball joint bolts.

as usual your on the ball Baz
I meant the steering knuckles
And yes mine is still a 4 stud,
I didn't want to buy 16- 5 stud rims
Also just to show you the rear conversion I had done

Hr31 vented discs with Mazda 4 spot calipers, that way I got a park brake and and bigger shafts through the trailing arm as well
