just wondering what people use for water traps or air dryer setups for home use.
i was spraying a panel in etch today (wattyl super etch) and i was getting this crap like spider web floating around in the over spray and landing on the panel.
im guessing it could be water in the air line after the water separator.
i have only ever used a water separator at the compressor itself and never had any problems before.
so just curious as to what people on here use to trap the water thats created after the water trap on the compressor body.

Another trap, inline. Put a hook on it and hang it off the shed roof etc.

In addition to the water trap at the tank, I have a small plastic trap at the end of the hose, right at the gun.
I don't think you can overdo water traps :)
Also, make sure that the hose from the tank to the regulator is long to allow moisture to condense.
Ideally, this hose should be copper with a drain cock but even if it is rubber, make sure it has some length to it and not a real point to point shorty.

so lengthen the hose from the the regulator/water separator and add an inline water trap at the gun. should that be enough???
who sells decent inline water traps??

Any paint shop or Auto Acc. store should have them.

The long hose should be from the TANK to the Regulator

A mate of mine who is a panel beater reckons long hose with inline trap as well as at the reg. (as Nissanman said). Also if possible hang up the hose as close as possible to gun above head height to let the water run back into the trap.
ah just noticed this is covered by nebuchernezzer
