Hi all,

I bought these fibreglass panels from a guy in Hahndorf, SA back in 1993, and I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has any knowledge of their origins please.

The seller said they were from a rally Dazda, and quoted a successful racer whose name I don't entirely recall. At the time I was more interested in having a fast, light 510 than I was in Datsun's racing history, but age catches up with all of us and now I'm keen to find out where they're from.

The bonnet was fitted up briefly until I was threatened with a defect notice, the rest have probably not seen use since their rally days. The original bonnet paintwork looks like it has been painted over in dodgy white paint, the stripes that match the guards are still on the vertical edges of the bonnet.

If anyone can help out I'd really appreciate it - pics below.

cheers
D

cheers datsssun_77, thanks for looking.

I was hoping Baz may remember them, the rally Dazdas were history before I got interested in Datsuns. The guy I got them from was probably a club racer himself - had a rose-jointed front end there too - so the paint and sponsors may not be the original livery anyway. Don't think he was BSing me tho', I'd already handed over the money before he got talking about their history. Searching the intergoogle hasn't helped, if there is a piccy out there of that bonnet with the set-back scoop I haven't found it yet.
