hoping some of you friendly 1600 owners out there might be able to take a pic of your door seal on the car.

it seems with boot seals, door seals, etc. there is more than one way of fitting them nice and snug in their channels
but then they stop the door/boot from closing properly.

is it because they are new and thicker?
could someone please show me how they have there's installed. here's how i've done mine

and how the door sits with the catch as far in as I can adjust it... the door sits flush at the front.

okay getting closer.. old door in the shed had "some" seal left on it...

i've tucked that lip (see yellow arrow) on the right under the outer "channel" of the door and it sits cleaner... still not 100% though..
seals at the top now though.. might be the rest of the seal???

yep.. worked it out.. i'll start and finish my own thread.. hahah. sometimes you just need to walk away for a few minutes and go back with fresh eyes.
well, a lot of the time for me.

kit was from Dural Datsun (ebay) but looks to be datsunlandsocal stuff as the stickers on the bags state. still waiting to hear back from them and/or dural.. rear outer belt mould seals (squeegees to some) are about an inch short... might just have to stay up past bedtime :P and call the US and have them measure a set up and send some more.

well, i can get the door to close flush with the seal tucked in and adjusting the striker on the body, but it's a b**ch to open the door. it sits the back of the door lower than the front.
so will try lowering hinges. this double sided tape i'm using for the seals works a treat.. nice and sticky. thought i'd try it out rather than glue. think i got it at a craft shop... the bunnings stuff was hopeless.

Silly question do they get "Glued" along the bottom and sides? I have just taken mine off to a paint job and theyre were stuck on with super glue or simmilar.

Cheers

i used a 3M double sided tape for mine. but glue is a common option. i'm experimenting based on what i've seen on newer cars at work, and thought it would be less messy (for me!)
time will tell.
