So I have been a little busy working on the old girl.
This is a list of things that are being changed to 'finish' the car.

- Repaint engine bay (looking a little worse for wear)
- Rehang and align doors (i did them poorly 5 years ago)
Engine:
- Haltech PS500 - (10+ yr old E6K had done it's tour of duty proudly)
- Changing plenum
- Toyota Echo Coil-On-Plug conversion
- New radiator
- Retune on E85 20+PSI
- Bellhousing change on gearbox (to try and fix noise)
Suspension and brakes:
- Fit and setup front coilovers and R32 GTR Brakes
- Fit new larger can booster and BM50 Nissan M/C
- New front brake lines and Wilwood bias adjuster
Interior:
- New seats (Recovered 240z buckets)
- New carpet
- Replace the pinchweld around the doors (adding another seal to reduce noise)
- Rewire dash
- Fit 240k Centre console and floor handbrake
Here are a few pics of my progress.
So before I had the engine bay painted, I spent a bit of time over christmas fiddling with wiring. I decided I wanted to do the wiring loom a fair bit neater and better than before. I bought all the required goodies. Raychem DR25, Deutsch connectors, some good quality Tyco wire. I also had been stashing some Toyota echo coils at the wreckers. I hid 2 sets and waited for their next '$50-all-you-can-carry-day'. Mr Wrecker wasn't impressed when i strolled out with 8 coils, 8 plugs and an arm load of other valuable stuff.
First job was the try and mound the Echo coils. They needed a little modification to get them sitting on the plug correctly but that wasn't too hard.
Roughing out the mounting
All mocked up.
Next I went about rewiring the engine to suit the new engine management. The entire old loom was sold with the old computer, so I started at each plug and ran new wires on new connectors.
Injectors and coolant sensor.
After a while it started to look like this:
Add a HD30 connector and 90Deg heatshrink boot.
Completed EFI Loom. Injectors, Coils, Coolant temp, Air temp, TPS, CAS, IAC.
For my first attempt at doing a motorsport style loom I was pretty please.
I did another loom for the engine -> body stuff. Starter, Alternator, gauge sensors, VSS, reverse lights etc.
I quickly dropped the motor back into the car to make sure the plugs didn't foul anything. All good! Phew!
After wiring, I moved onto stripping the engine bay for paint. This was pretty easy, just unbolting and removing stuff. Took 2 of us about 30mins once the engine was out.
Engine bay stripped, ready for paint. You can see where the brake fluid too it's toll.
Assembly has started on putting things back in. This takes ages as it all needs to be cleaned and make pretty again.
New brake booster, M/C, and Deutsch HD30 connectors installed. I'm still waiting for my Wilwood bias valve to show up.
Radiator mocked into place. I just need to mod the top outlet to be a little more suitable to my application.
Close up of the Deutsch HD30 connectors. Both are 21pin. The stud is for the starter motor cable and the -6 fitting is for my under dash vacuum distributor.
Whats next? Once the Wilwood Bias thingy arrives, I can bend and flare new brake lines. Once that has been done, the engine and box can be put back in.
