Are you getting a 4 point or a six point and are you getting it bolted in or welded? I'd like to know if there are any differences between NSW and VIC!

two answers to the question...

1. cars with 6 point cage cannot be registered in NSW anymore. period. bolted or welded. IMO i think it's a hypocritical rule, but oh well. Probably more lenient in VIC?

2. I had a 4 point cage built to ANDRA specs. I.e. welded main hoop and taxi bar, welded back stays and bolted side intrusion bars. All can be used in street registered car aside from the side intrusion bars, these are left for track/strip only.

This is the best pic i've got so far, can add more if you want.

the engineer im using suggested some floor bracing towards the front of the car. All good and well having a four point cage primarily the rear end, but what about the front end? Not a bad idea really, considering the 1600 is not a fully chassis car, this will stiffen the front end up.

Looks good mine will be made for club sprints so will probably go a diagonal brace in the rear hoop as well. Yours has given me some good idea's but.

Very nice job there, I really like the bolt-in sections for the side impact area. Is that new box section welded along the whole length of the sills? Also where do your rear legs go to? Back wheel tubs?

hey anth, yeah it's box section running along sills. wanted tube, but thats what i ended up with. the back stays have to line up with chassis rails, cant be welded anywhere else (from ANDRA rule book). only taken one photo of this (ages ago), hopefully you can see that. and no, that's not a 1600 fuel tank
