i liked what i saw with the 3000gt caliper that i wnet and bought some :D
so i have a bit of playing to do and it gives me some options now that my coilovered 240ks strut do not fit
the calipers are nearly identical even when split the halves can bolt to one another....
the offset of the moutning ears can be seen...

thems some nice looking discs, they look bigger than 30mm though

maybe you just got dodgy struts, had a look at my brakes on the weekend and there is a good 2mm clearance between strut and disc

2mm????......way to close for my liking....no way.....
all u'll need is the bearings to pack up a little and u'll get more then 2mm movement in the hub...throws the rotor onto the strut...
i would hate to crash all for 2mm....
will find out more about the 273,, 240k struts with the "bent back moutning ears"
and yeah they are r33 DBA rotors

dont think you will crash from the disc rubbing on the strut....id be more worried about the wheel bearing that has just packed up

after all the caliper doesnt have a great deal of clearance to the disc so if a wheel bearing packs up it will collect non pad parts of the caliper first

my rotors are so close to the lower control arm that if the rotor started to wobble i would hear it.
had to relieve about a mm of the lower control arms as they were just touching the bottom of the rotor when pointing in a straight line.

did you think about machining the back of the hub datto-510? not viable?

yeah that was an option, but again didnt want to take too much out.
you could always look at a custom hub/hat setup i guess.

ok so its probably a tad more than 2mm....didnt actually measure it. but you could probably just trim a bit off the back of the mounting ears so that they are flat and neat looking and this would get you a bit more

if you can find someone that can machine the hub up nice and flat them that would be a good option, as its not like are going to be taking heaps of meat off the hub. also either stanza or 200b hubs are threaded the whole way through (disc mounting bolts) im pretty sure so these could be a better hub to get to machine down

200b hey.....might have to look at that....
in the hub dimension thread it came up as 200b, 240k were the same....

yeah stanza 200b and 240k are the same, but i remember seeing that one of them was threaded more than the other so it would be more suited to having the disc mounting face lathed down, as then you still have the standard amount of thread left in the hub

oh and measured the bluebird hubs, and yeah wheel goes out 10mm and dics goes out 20mm. so no help there
