ive herd there are 2 types of 240k brakes 1 has smaller disks with twin spot calipers the other has larger disks with single spot calipers? is this true if so how do i tell the differance?? year etc cheers

Well it's quite easy, one has a larger disc and single pot calipers whereas the other one has a smaller disc with twin pot calipers.

Infact
They are both 2 piston caliper just very different design
One is opposing pistons in that there is 1 piston either side of the disc
The other has both pistons on the same side of the disc and a large cradle around the outside thats abit spaceship like

unless i'm very much mistaken, the later ones are single-piston floating calipers. and they do have a big-f|_|ck off space-ship cradle around them.

i know cos i've got a pair of these, and no-one wants to buy them off me :cry: :P

I've got a pair of them too ... I know what you mean..... but I think they do have two pistons sharing the same cylinder !? Not sure if that makes you very much mistaken or not. :D

these are the ones i got priity sure there the ones your talking about even if there only single piston they sould still be an improvment over the standar 1600 ones
