 Post subject: 1600 seat rail upgrades

seen as though 3 out of 4 of mine are broken or starting to rip because theyre weak little pieces of sh*t, is there any other cars that have better rails that bolt in? simply to save me any engineering hassles later on. i now have some oldschool saas seats too :)

Dave, You mean those flimsey things that bolt between the floor and the sliders?
If so, i looked at getting some beefed up (welded thicker steel in there). but then forunt a good set of rails.
Any welding/fabrication joint can do it for a price.

theyre the ones mate. one of mine has started to rip a tab off and another is already completely gone. i just thought maybe there was a donor car with somehing stronger, maybe a bit cheaper also. ah well guess i'll see how i go getting em beefed up a tad

Dont quote me, but I think some of the old KA - KC? lasers have rails that suit...

Also you can grab the side trim that is plastic that holds the carpet to the side of the car (just under the door) to replace your corroded alloy ones.

They need a bit of trimming but look a shitload better than the dinged up 30yo ones.
