Hey guys.

One of the things I like to do to my cars is mate the engine bay very neat and low maintenance. I would very much like to know what you guys have done special (if anything) to the pain in the engine bay.

I was looking at the idea of the "tub liner" paint as it is nearly indestructible and super durable but... kind of looks crap. I then heard about "stone ship paint"... Sounds ok but I've never talked to anyone that has used it.

Gonna pick yous guys brains to see what yous guys did.

If there is something specific (brand/product), it'd be cool to share too I think.

Look forward to learning.

Just normal 2K with clear coat added to the top coat.
Polishing not necessary but can be done

I was asking as there are some more... heat and knock resistant paints around and, for the engine bay i will be having, i think there is going to be quite a bit of heat... Want to minimize paint damage.

We used spatter paint for our engine bay. It's GM paint, originally used for boot-lining 70's cars but still available from most auto-paint shops. It comes in black with blue or silver flecks: https://www.duplicolor.com/products/trunkSpatter/

Here's the bay done in it

Hey Hatchman!

THIS is the junk I had heard of. I think it looks pretty nice too! How does it told up to the tests of time?

So cool! Thanks mate!!

Test of time I can't say from personal experience mate but others have used it so I'd say its decent enough.

It looks good and because it goes on rough if you mark/gouge/scratch it just spray over the top. We've done that a couple of times now when we put the engine back in and a few other things
