Just hoping someone could measure along the trim line (or whatever its called) on the outside of a 510 2 door door for me. I am rebuilding my race car 1600 4 door at the moment and I am increasing the size of the rear inner guards to match the flares I'm fitting and I've decided the best way to get the arches the size I what them is to weld up the back doors so I can join the tubs to them ( if you know what I mean) . and one thing leads to another ( sick of sitting behind the side pillar). And by the way this a race car with many mods and repairs not a good original 1600. Any help much appreciated. Neil.

I have a two door 510 sedan and the last time I measured the doors they were 156 mm longer than a 4 door front door...I will confirm that measurement later (writing this from memory) on but this dimension was taken along the body "crease" line below the door lock. Will endeavour to take some pictures of the inside of the shell to show how the b-pillar is moved back, etc, compared to a 4 door. Hope this helps in the meantime?

Sounds great, a picture of the pillar from the outside with the door open would be helpful , as i live in country Vic there is none around to have a look at I have only ever see one in real life at a hillclimb meeting and was to busy to get a good look.
The measurement sounds familiar as I read a post a couple of years ago that had the measurements in it , But can't remember where the post was never mind the measurements. So if could check, 4 door fd 930mm + 156mm = 1086 mm i hope its write because that puts it about 100mm in front of the rollover bar/cage and give plenty room to work.
Along the body "crease" line below the door lock. yep thats the line I meant .
I dont expect to do a perfect replica, but it will be nice to have something to aim for . Thank You. Neil.

Yes, I can confirm the dimension is 1087 mm for the front door, at crease line.

Some pictures of my 2 door - these were taken after I had purchased it from Wayne in Mildura in 2012 and before painting....car currently is a rolling painted shell (first picture) which is slowly being assembled (more on this later....). Hopefully, the body work shots give enough detail to show the major B-pillar structure of the 2 door sedan versus 4 door. Let me know if you need any other views or pictures; would be happy to help.
Savio
