i have grown tired of my rear lights getting more faded. Ive had a bit of a look but i havent seen anything that can re colour them. I tried some glass staining stuff but it did nothing.

So basically surely the people who restore cars must have a trick for this.

I do recall some years ago, there was a staining solution on the market, designed specifically for fading plastic lenses. Maybe check with auto shops if the stuff is still available. Not sure how good it was.
I'm assuming your issue is with 200B lenses. If you can track down some lenses off an imported 200b (early models, SSS), you should never have the problem again.

i looked new ones on ebay and they will set me back around $135 which i dont really want to pay for them if i dont have to.

if anyone has some reasonable ones with no fading and a reasonable price consider me interested.

it seems odd that there isnt an easy soloution to this on the market.

You can buy red and orange tinter in a spray can to suit plastics, do a google search for "all red tails diy" and you should get some results, make sure you follow it up with a clear coat. Last time I was st Autobarn they had orange but not red. Another trick I've heard of is using semi-transparent hobby paint, the kind they use on model cars to paint indicators + tails

In case anybody is interested i tried the auto barn lense die in both can and bottle form. The spray can was brilliant and did a really good job. the bottled product which you apply like nail polish (not that i would know anything about that) was crap to be honest it was just time consuming and the final result wasnt half as good as the spray on. A can is like $16 but that is alot less than 135 for new lenses.

Supply where rather low at autobarn like Anth510 said which is why i tried the amber in the bottle. I also tried hobby paint some time back it didnt really have any effect.
