I offer a change-over service with new stainless steel pins and full bronze bushes installed...with greasing capability...ie BETTER THAN NEW!
There are 3 options.
1. For your convenience I can send rebuilt front or rear TOP HINGES and require your old one(s) back later, meaning no car down-time.
These will be sandblasted and coated in acrylic grey primer.
A $10 security will be added and refunded on receival of you old hinge(s).

2. You can send your own, (where time is not a factor and you don't wish to repaint) and receive them back fitted with a kit and as much care taken of your paint as is possible. Turn around time approx 2 weeks.

3. Finally, and only for those with vice and 8mm reamer, I can send kits of bushes, pins & grese nipples for DIY installation. For ideal tolerances, reaming is done after bushes are pressed into position.

Pricing is as follows Option1. $35 (+$10 security), Option 2. $30, Option3. $25.

I'd be more interested in Nickel Plating? Zinc plate is a great idea though.

I like the idea of the grease nipple! I just re-did mine using the brass bushes from Singapore, but they had to be machined down on top to make them fit properly.
With your DIY kits, whats to stop you from reaming the bushes to the same tolerance as needed with the pin, and then send them out to customers? That way people won't need to ream them to the correct size/ tolerance in a press themselves, but only press in the new pin? the only reason they would need to be reamed out after installation would be due to inconsistency with the stainless pins. The bushes going into the hinge itself should be the same.
It'd make the DIY kits so much easier, and I wouldn't think those customers would be that worried about the tolerance being within the 1/1000th of an inch...

Thanks for the interest....but ironically it's the reverse.
The pins are spot-on, but the hinges' inner diameters vary according to wear and rust.
The final ream is to take account of those variaitions.
Drop-in bushes (pre-reamed) would allow rotation of the bush in the hinge....bad news :(
Someone suggested a 'poor-man's reamer' (actually a crude hone).....5mm dowel with a slot in the end fitted with some 400grit wet'n'dry....and a cordless drill!
If all that seems too hard, there's always opt 1 & 2 :) I'm paying the return post on all options till 5/10

Thanks for the enquiry.
No need to disable the car. I can send a rebuilt pair of uppers (L & R) and you paint them to match your car. Swap them at your leisure and return your old ones to me.
Among my rebuilt sets I have one pair in original factory pale green (see car colour below) Paint is good, OK to use as-is, saving someone on paint.
All others will be in grey etch primer.
Total cost of 2 rebuilt hinges is $60 ($80 up front, with $20 refund on receival of your old ones)
I pay postage to you..

Discount offer closes 5/10, after which prices revert to those previously listed and postage will be included.
Think how often you use your door hinges (compared to maybe.....I dunno.....a towhook) and why it's taking more effort to close the doors. Test your hinges by slightly opening your door, grabbing the window frame and lifting while watching the top hinge....or maybe you shouldn't... :shock:
