if you're worried about fuel consumption changing to webers probably isnt your best option
With my webber, a 34/34, it didn't make any noticeable differences to power or consumption. But it did look better under the bonnet and sound better.  That run-on thing is caused by an advanced dizzy timing is it not? Mine did that i just played around with the dizzy angle. |

i used to use the cheapest and nastiest fuel no addatives it ran fine  the 32/36 downdraft webber is a good option, i didnt think it was to heavy on fueleven with my driving style twin su are easy enough to find, just keep your eye out on this site you'll bump into someone that has a pair and it is probably cheaper than an overhauled 32/36 with adapterplate. the su is a sidedraft variable venturi style carb which is handy because it only allows as much air through as the motor needs no matter how open your butterfly is. i have a 2" jag style su on a suck through turbo set up good for about 280hp according to a flow test cant wait to bolt it on way day

i think im going to go with the twin su setup more power and more petrol is better than how it is now no power and more petrol

you might be surprised you might make more power with the twin su and at your current fuel usage it might get better or stay the same just a thought how are all your petrol lines/hoses it only takes a slight leak to ruin your consumption |

im not sure, well wat i was gona do after the carby was adjusted so it is driveable was to go to a car wash degrease the engine bay and have a look to see if there are any fuel leaks in the lines thanks for the advice

could just use a match  you would certainly smell the petrol if there was a leak in the engine bay but just thought the lines at the back the car sometimes get ignored |

my timming has been set to the standard 200b l20 timing
Hang on, if you are getting run on then something isnt right. You may be running quite rich, which would explain why you are experiencing bad fuel consumption.when i turn the car off. it keeps running like its about to choke dead then when i turn the car to on, it starts again is this my idle the only way i can turn the car off is by stalling it problem after problem!!! Best to determine what is wrong before you go making major changes. |

nah, my mate (a mechanic) used the tester where you stick it in the exhaust and check whether the car is rich or lean he had it on neutral (middle) so it was sweet i'll just get the carby in working order and take it to him to see wats goin on until i get the twin su's |

I think it would have to be your carbie then. When my 200B was completely stock, I managed to push almost 800 ks out of a tank going up the Hume. With the twin SUs on, and extractors, it was more like 650ks going around town, obviously depending on how I drove it. I reckon put a set of twin SUs on. The amount extra it would cost to run (on a motor that's drinking the usual amount) versus the power increase would be awesome. |

yeah a dual choke downdraught weber is a good choice, I was referring to dual sidedraught webers/dellortos/solexes, which are not good on fuel and are a waste of time without some decent compression and a nice cam. My 720 ute with 10:1 comp, mild cam and twin 40mm solexes used to get 15-18L/100km

just wondering how many kms people get out of a full tank of petrol in a L20B
Yes. I also would like to know. I plan to daily drive my 200B when I get one. And this is one of the most crucial factors
with a standard carby, driving normally im only gettin 300kms (if that) timing, plugs, leads, mixture are all adjusted properly |
