This is what it looks like now. Me and a mate who is a painter spent a few hours on it on the weekend. I think it looks better now. Will sort out wheels and some height reduction this week.

The colour is PPG Bright orange tinter. When i first got in the car it was really hot with the mat black paint, and i thought black might make the cops want to pull me over more.
I dont know what they did to fit the motor but it looks like it fits really well.

Good work. Looks Great Much better than matt black, although matt black is good. You will have to come out on the next Datto cruise. I quite often go with 1200.com you should come

Good question..

When I first put my L18 in.. the standard downdraught carbie wouldnt fit..
so I had to opt for hitachi SU's.

:?

And an L20b is approx. 20mm taller than L18..

I havent really had much of a chance to look at engine mounts ect. I have noticed though that the sump sits really close to the cross member, but overall the motor seem to fit well. I will get some pics of the mounts and cross member and post them.
Datto cruise sounds good RPM310.

if you can find one in a wrecker, a sunny coupe dashboard has a tacho
just like the 1200 coupes, or the 120y's. just be sure to get the wiring loom to match. Pity your over in SA as i have an early coupe dash i had
in my sunny van. the tacho doesn't work, which is just a case of getting it to an instrument repair place. In fact i replaced the early dash set up with one from a square headlight coupe, by taking the entire dash panel. mine had the little windows in the side, much better for seeing out of. i think this area of the body is just glued in anyway,so if you could get the window rubbers from a later van with the big windows, you might be able to get some side glass into it. Post some photos with the new mags on it please, as i'm interested in seeing how it looks. & does the economonitor still work?

Thanks for the dash tips i will see what i can find. Sadly the econometer is no longer functioning. I think the side windows would save me from cutting people off all the time but they wouldnt look as good i dont recon. I will get some new photos up asap.
If anybody in SA is interested in purchasing this car sent me a pm or email. I love it but i really need to finish my 1600 and i keep finding myself playing wiith the sunny.
Cheers

my econometer wasnt working either. managed to find a tacho though when i went down to the wreckers to get a new radiator, he said there's a green one down the back and i found what would have been a very good condition coupe if there wasn't a car on its roof already. so i scored the radiator, tacho and rear seat for my 1600.
oh and if you do find a tacho, you don't need the wiring, it should be there already in your car (mine was)

i reckon wagins look better with one big window and no centre support instead of two little ones.

excuse my shitty paint skillz.
