Ok everyone i am putting my fuel system together and need some help to get started

Im sort of new to this so i wanna make it right the first time..

can anyone either explain to me in detail and or draw me how this fuel system should work including using breathers etc etc

Specs

Engine: fj20et
Injectors: standard
Fuel tank: standard 1600 tank

What i have

- car length of braided 3/8th fuel line which im told is suitable enough to use as the feed line.

- surge tank with 4 outlets (2 on either side) see pic 6

- bosch fuel pump see pic 3

- Ryco fuel filter see pic 2

- 2 electric fuel pumps mounted on one another (im told they are pre pumps) see pic 1

Questions

- What size is appropriate for the return line???

- My bosch fuel pump has part number 0580 464 070 and a 014 that has been circled.. Can anyone tell me how much this flows please and is it adequate???

- there is a threaded hole in the bottom of the fuel tank, what is that for?? see pic 4

- are the two outlets just behind the rear seat the feed and return outlets?? see pic 5

thanx you in advance

see the diagram on this page for fuel system setup:

http://www.turbophile.com/our_cars/char ... specs.html

If you have a 3/8 (10mm) feed line personally i would do a 3/8 return to keep sizing of hose/fittings simple but a 5/16 or 8mm return will still be heaps for stock fj.

The two outlets are feed and return. Mine are bent 90 degrees though so the hose points more toward the hole in the floor.

Bosch 070 is used by Rover 3.5L V8's with over 140kw's amongst others so should be fine for you for a while. They flow 130litres/hr @ 3bar, max power consumption should be 6.5amps.

The threaded hole is so you can drain the tank fully without removing it from the car as it is the lowest point.

Nick.
