Ok I have recently re-built the bottom end of my l20b that is in my 1600.

It has been:
Over bored 60thou from standard
1.5mm dish pistons
molly rings
fully ballanced!

The Head:
L18 Peanut
match ported
mild cam 72deg (I think)

Induction:
Twin Delorto DHLA45
Datsun Performance Center Manifold
Ram Tubes

Exhaust:
Extractors
2.5" steel exhaust
Lukey Peformance Muffler

240k 5 speed

The motor has been run in bout 1000-1500km and I just put on the dyno this week!

74kw@The Wheels 228nm Torque

click here to see print out

Post your results here

I want to get an idea of the numbers people are getting from there motors!

fully ballanced bottom end
280zx valve train

The Head:
U67 datrally/massive porting
match ported
cam 72deg

Induction:
Twin 40mm webers
redline ported Manifold
Ram Tubes

Exhaust:
Extractors
2.5" steel exhaust

Just so we're all on the same page, the last thread like this was locked after some err.. aggressive discussion. :) Keep it civil and don't even TRY to make comparisons with anyone but yourself. OK? :)

It has been:
Over bored 40thou from standard (i think)
Flattop forgies, 10.5:1
fully ballanced!

The Head:
Just a polish
mild cam (not dialed in, still need adjustable gears)

Induction:
Standard fj20 efi

Exhaust:
Standard manifold
2" steel exhaust
Peformance Muffler

FJ 5 speed

The motor has been run in bout 1000-1500km when on dyno

76kw@The Wheels 312nm Torque (suspect dyno, or cam timing doing strange things)

1968 1600
L20b
Heaps of head work
10.5:1 comp
45mm webers on Datrally manifold (36mm chokes)
76 works cam
custom extractors with 2.5inch mandrel exhaust
3.9:1 R180

EFI Dynamics
Dyno Dynamics chassis dyno

92 rwkw @ 5600rpm

I sold the car to a mate who is looking at putting 40mm chokes in it and doing a few other things to try to get 100rwkw out of it.
Hopefully it will make it to the datnats next year

Yeah, why not - someone's gotta come last  Not sure on some of the specs as I didn't build it.

1970 1600
L18
A87 head with large ports, 44mm inlets and unknown cam.
Cam was dialled in by the dynotuner using a dial guage, drill and angle grinder
Looks like standard compression from the dish in the pistons
Twin SU's
extractors with 2inch exhaust and single rear "muffler" (which doesn't seem to actually muffle anything  )
3.7:1 R160

69 rwhp - the quote from the dynotuner was " I usually get more out of these little Datsun motors"

When i got home with my 1600 i had a tidy up of the fuel maps done it was runnin rich all through the rev range as it was mapped without dyno facilities when built... didnt have much money left so couldnt get it runnin sweet...

1600 4 Sedan

Ingredients:
EMS Qi4
Stock S12 FJ20ET
3" Exhaust
Evo 7 Cooler
Stock T3
Stock Internals
Mazda Chain Tensioner

119kw 8.5psi

major boost drop issues at end of run, i think thats because of the pussy plastic bosch BOV leaking. Doesnt sound like much but still goes hard, needs about 5 hours on dyno to create new maps and was blowing out past every gasket hope i can get this higher when its back on the road

Simon

MCDATO,

I thought the former SX-510 was living in Ballarat, Victoria these days?
