I am using a VR-VS commodore radiator in my DR30 Skyline.
I have chosen this radiator as it is quite thin in depth allowing plenty of room for me to run an intercooler and still retain my AC. I also know of someone else using this radiator and he has had no problems at all with overheating. 3rd factor was price with under $150 for a brand new radiator.
The problem I have now found is getting thermo fans that I can adapt to the rad. I am looking for a twin fan setup in a common housing much like an EF Falcon however the EF set up is too wide. I am also after something with a fairly low profile so I can mount the radiator back as far as possible. I am trying to stay away from aftermarket ones as I want to run the radiator fully shrouded so all air goes through the fans when they are on giving good cooling. I figure building a shroud will be more time consuming than modifying an existing set up. Anyone got any recomendations?
Here are a few measurements.
VR Radiator core 546mm wide x 442mm high
EF Thermo fans 700mm wide x 460mm high
Magna Thermo's RH 340mm wide x 405mm high
LH 370mm wide x 405mm high
Thanks
Jake
