Yeah that sounds like the progress on my datsuns. Look at them for a bit, clean something, walk away wishing they could fix themselves...haha But from last month I decided that every second weekend had to be a Datsun weekend, the old man is getting the sh&ts with the 120Y taking up the workshop hahaha!

So.........

The coupe needs to be on the road by NYE so i can have a car. the commo daily is long in the tooth and i want her back. i'm excited. she wont be all turbo and sh*t but she will have the twin SU's. anyone got any ideas on a linkage setup to go L-series SU to A series cable throttle?

I've been looking at the same problem for my Sunny that's getting a L20B with SSS carbs, & this is what I thought of doing. It appears the U shaped bracket the rod hooks into is held in place with a screw on the other side of the support. This part of the linkage then slides out. My idea was to get the main shaft from a dead carbie, with the thread on the end & see if this could be substituted for the U shaped bracket. You could then use the throttle plate that comes with the carbie to attach the cable to the linkages. Or if you had access to a lathe, to make a shaft with the proper thread that woud fit inside the linkage. You'd have to fabricate a bracket to support the throttle cable, but I've seen bluebirds with a similar set up to the 120Y & am going to try to find a bracket from there. Or you could just use a downdraught weber & use the A series bits. Not as sexy as twin carbs, but a bit easier to set up.

Cheers for that, I'll look into it. I did have a 32/36 on it before but I have the su's there and want some dual carb action!!
