Junior gets a phone call from mate who used to work with him at Nissan. The mate has started his own business and this 93 300ZX TT auto comes in and barely running. The mate doesn't know where to start; and Jnr is the only person up this way who has rebuilt any; so home it comes on a trailer.

Apparently the owner who has imigrated from ethnica has had a play with it and put on a couple of pod filters (low down in the dust) and then some blow off valves. Fits them & decides to give the cold engine the big rev to hear the SSSHHHT. Scratch one motor.

We finally got the mongrel thing out this afternoon after about 10 hours work.
Under 60K and has oil leaks everywhere. No clamp at sump on turbo oil dump pipe. Engine oil looks like a diesel. Large rust water stains over egr & right turbo. Oil sludge (and dust) in inlet pipes. Very little coolant in radiator and its rusty brown colour and rusty sludge in galleries. Bores have been scored and the anti knock sensor has it's plastic cover melted off and lying in a pool in the valley.
But it's never been dusted of got hot. ,..... crap.

Why do wankers treat nice vehicles like this??

Thought that I would just share this car abuse with you.

Ken

Ken,

Foolish people shouldn't be allowed to drive unreliable cars. Morris Minors for all!

I hope that was a tongue in cheek comment about the morris.
Because long story short...
In my more "less mechanically sypathetic" days, I used to 'drive' a mini...
you have know idea what (non-datsun) relability is like.
Daily 7/8k RPM excursions. street meets DROPPING the clutch from &k WITH RACE TYRES...
"Weber fed, and always in the RED"
...ahhh the joys of youthfulness.

(At no time do I hereby condone or promote recklees/careless/unsafe driving or speeding etc....)
