Hi I've got a gearbox here I was told it was a 5 speed and came out of a 1600 with an L18 engine can anyone identify it please ? the only markings I can find on it is YHT6 1827 thanks in advance

You got told wrong. Its a 1600 4 speed. Or possibly a 180B 4 speed, depending how long it is (hard to tell the rear extension housing covered in plastic). Basically, any of the boxes with the square plate / cover on the underside are 4 speeds. |

thanks Dave I'm guessing it' a 180b 4 speed , it's a short box bolts straight into existing mounts |

Short box will probably be a standard 1600 one, 180B are longer and would require cutting / extending the hole in the transmission tunnel for the shifter to come thru. |
