All that's happened with my 180B SSS project over the last few years is that its become a possum toilet...... |

@dave Any photos of your possum toilet? Perhaps the process may inspire you to either get back in or sell. I am now waiting on a new driveshaft from the 6speed to the R200 LSD. I think the tacho connection may pose a different approach, any words of wisdom out there on the topic? Fitting a blacktop SR20DET out of a Silvia S15. I have the 71/72 model dash to put in. I am tossing up between keeping it original (preferred), and kitting the housing out with new tech gauges. Would love to hear any stories.

Possum has taken up residence in a cardboard box up in the roof of the shed, when he has to go, he walks along one of the joists to a spot directly above the 180B and takes aim. At least he doesn't do it on the 1600. Perhaps he's just expressing his view on the desirability of the different Datsun models... I'll get back into it one day. I always thought when the kids were older Id have more time, but something else always comes up to take up my time. I love the dash in my 72 180B SSS - I'd keep it original if at all possible (but that's just me). No idea on how to make it work with SR20 though. Maybe talk to a guage place and see if you could get them to adapt modern guts to the old tacho ? Attachment:

Hi all. Some steps are happening with the build. About to get the exhaust done. Any words of wisdom from anyone? The plan is to run the stock SR20DET with a slightly larger exhaust to allow for an upgrade later. I am thinking 2.5 inch through to the muffler with 3.5inch tip.

Not sure if anyone even comes here much anymore. Oh well. Here’s an update for anyone interested. Switching to GD30 top mounted turbo, and custom exhaust intercooler on its way. Wiring has started. Putting the electronic evo gauges into the 72 style cluster. Shaved doors with poppers also planned. 76mm intake purchased and installed.

For anyone interested. Long story short. The car went to a garage 15months, the owner was in an accident and nothing was done. Money lost moving on. Car is now in with Viking Hotrods and has had more work done it in the last 3 weeks than last 2 years. More updates coming soon. I will get this project finished! Can we no longer post photos? Guess not many people here |

I am still here and like seeing updates, but it's a very quiet forum these days. Good to see that you are still pushing ahead with it, feel free to upload some extra pictures when you can |

SR20DET now in and running. 2 inch exhaust in progress. After the longest of time, this project should be on the road soon. Just want to do front suspension and brake package. Suggestions anyone?
