Post subject:  L20B motor problem

I have Datsun 200B L20B motor all parts replaced and the carby rebuilt the problem I have is when I start the motor and it warms up when I put it in auto-drive about 5 sec after the motor start to shake and it going to stop running so I take it out of auto-drive and the motor idle ok. parts that I replace is the Spark plug, leads, Distributor cap, Ignition coil, points, air filter, and the carby rebuilt, all hose has been replaced.

Idle speed or maybe fuel pressure? The torque converter in an auto will sap some power from the engine so maybe that is the reason?

I think you have an idle speed problem and / or incorrect base ignition timing (not advanced enough)....both of these two things will need to be adjusted to ensure specified idle speed in "D" position.

I have found the problem L20 it was the head gasket as I was told to use durapro gasket.
