I have 2 engine stands i want to spin my 1600 with. found couple examples ill copy from but need a some measurements before buying extra steel.
question 1. whats the measurement from the ground to the spinning thing.

Ill use the front and rear bumper mounts to bolt the brackets to.
Question 2. Does anyone have any good pictures and measurements of the contraptions they build for the front and rear to balance the car.
question 3. What steel did you use 40x40?

Any help would be much appreciated

Apologies, piccies have disappeared. I'll have to find them and correct the post

It looks like I made the pivot point of mine about 1.2m off the ground (can measure tonight to be sure). I have enough clearance to the floor to store an entire diff / rear suspension setup under the car without the bodyshell touching it when it rotates, so you could probably go a bit lower than 1.2m

I just attached the front of mine to where the bumper bar brackets would bolt on, using a bit of solid angle iron welded onto the T-shaped piece of the "spinning bit" of the rotisserie.

I did the rear the same way (because 180B rear bars mount different to 1600), for a 1600 you would just make something to bolt onto the rear bumper mount then attach this to the arm. In the pic below, where the red circle is there is a bit of angle welded on that points forward and bolts to where the rear bumper mount would normally attach.

Mine is a little "bottom-heavy", it takes a bit of muscle to get it upside down. I could alter the "centre of gravity" by moving the body up a little, but its never been a drama.

I extended 2 engine stand uprights by 300mm to gain the swing clearance needed to rotate my mates Escort:
