Hey Guys,

I have a Datto 1200 ute with A12 with a side draft dellorto in it.

Just got a A15 for it with manifold setup for a down draft.

I need ideas on what I should go with???

I know the A12 vs A15 is a different port....

So would love to know my options... as I would love to keep my side draft carby option (though I know the room is running out as its so close to the front wheel arch)
Happy to hear options

Cheers

Anyone got a twin webber with manifold for an A15 engine?

Have you verified this? You might find that they are both round port heads. Are the bolt patterns different?

What heads do you have?

Thanks

Yes the A15 is oval and A12 is round

This is why I need to change manifold etc...

Looking for more advise around if I should stick with the Dellerto side draft with new manifold or go with down draft with new carby?

A15 is indeed oval port. I have an A15 with Dellorto 40 DHLA dual side drafts, and it fits/works just fine. The head bolt patterns are different too, so you'll need to address this. I had issues with the headers not clearing my manifold. Ended up re-purposing an oval port manifold that came with my side drafts, and modifying the headers to fit.

I'm pretty sure you can get a single side draft manifold to suit the oval port head. Check E-bay is my advice. You already have the sidedraft carby, so it's cheaper to get a manifold, rather than another carby & a manifold. If you want to go for a downdraft carby, a 32/36 DGV weber is the easiest/best carby to get. I prefer using 32 DGV's but these aren't available new & are very hard to come by. DON"T get a chinese made carby as they are junk. I spent almost a year trying to tune one of these, the best compromise I could find was to use E10 to get it to idle properly, because it was so rich at idle. The economy was bad, too. So, my advice is to try & find the correct style single sidedraft manifold, the same shape as you have, & you can sell the downdraft manifold as there is a demand for them.

Thanks guys

I found a single side draft manifold from recard in QLD. I think this will do the trick.
I am worried about the issue that brass monkey is speaking off about the head bolt patterns and the headers not fitting.
I have extractors on the A12 that I want to fit to the A15 so i hope they still fit with this new manifold.
Appreciate the advice gents
