Hi all
Looking for either a genuine new or generic (if there is one) 1600 temp sensor. or does anybody know the ratings --ohm rating of a genuine one so i can search for an aftermarket one. OR does anybody know if another model sender unit will work with 1600 original dash gauge . If memeory serves me correct i think only a 1600 sender will work with 1600 gauge but confirmation needed .

I picked up a new sensor from either Repco or Bursons, can't remember which. They are not the easiest to remove but doable.

First, ground the sender wire with the key on. Gauge should slowly read full HOT if the gauge and the wire are working correctly. If nothing happens then it probably isn't the sender.

Is the Gas gauge also not working? If so, they both share a common voltage regulator, and the contacts may need cleaning.

The same water temp sender #25080-89900 was used on almost every L, Z, A and CA series car and truck, even the early Patrol.
