Hi all, im looking at buying some XXR530 17x8.25 +25s I think theyre a great looking wheel and would like to get them but wasn't sure how a 17 fits under a 1600? Cheers.

17's will fit but im not sure about the width it sounds very wide

Yeah, too wide and the offset wont work on the front at all. Most go 17x7...

Mate, I know that big wheels look cool but on a stock 1600 they are likely to make it slower and crap to drive (and make your brakes look whimpy).

Sure, other people fit big wheels, but to make them work properly you need the suspension set up for them.

You can still have great looking wheels in 14 inch, the car will be nicer to drive (your shocks are not valved to suit really low profile tyres needed with big wheels), you won't have the hassles from the cops and you'll save money you can spend on other stuff.

If you want to know more I'm happy to explain. I don't usually offer advice unasked but the bloke selling wheels probably won't tell you this and I've met many blokes who admit that their big, awesome looking wheels make the car much less fun.
