It is with much delight I have finally aquired my father 1600 race car that he has owned for over 20 yrs. I have a bit of a list of things to do before I go racing but have made a start and all is going well. First on the list was to remover the alloy cage and bring it up to current specs so I can log book the car with CAMS. Attachment:
New cage all fitted in with extra tags and bracing.
Attachment:
Next was to remove all the old crap off the floor, about 5kg was scrapped off and cleaned up ready for primer.
Attachment:
Primer done ready for fresh, clean white paint.

Next after inside is painted the plan is to vinyl wrap the body in a matt white. Think I will leave the roof blue and see how it looks. Also have a set of glass flares that I would like to fit at some stage but that will be last. |

Doors were weled up along time ago. I guess you dont need them with no back seat. Had a go at vinyl wrapping the body over the last couple of days and if I can offer any advice DON'T DO IT!

A bit of an update to the progress. New CAMS spec steel cage has been welded in and the alloy one removed. Vinyl wrap has been tossed in the bin and now the body is all rubbed back ready for fresh paint.

Great work! Love the vids, I like the other clip of you having to make a big save half way up the hill! Maybe post that link up also? |
