G'day chaps and chappets,

I want to fit aircon to my 180b's. As there is bugger all chance of finding original factory aircon, I'm considering options.

I would like to know if any one has factory aircon in their 180b and could you please post photos of the button/s and selectors on the dash?

Also if anyone has experience fitting aircon to these 'ol girls and what models are good substitutes for factory 180b aircon.

Thanks in advance

Looked at this style ?

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/UNDERDASH-TY ... 4ab844ad15

I fitted one to my 1600 years ago, they are great because the evaporator / fans / switches / etc are all self-contained. Once you've fitted a condensor, compressor and drier under the bonnet, you just run a/c gas hoses to and from the unit under the dash, add a wire for power, and away you go.

On a 180B, it should be easy to take out the parcel tray under the glovebox and mount it there.

In-dash factory style would be less obtrusive, but as you say would be difficult to find and then fiddly to install.

Thanks Dave, I've seen one's like these. I am determined to avoid these jiggers, it takes up too much room. I've heard that a/c's from bluebirds will fit.

I'm really, really interested in seeing how the factory installation was fitted to the dash, ie the buttons, selectors and lights etc.

I should have some photos of my dad's factory setup, although it's not in the car at the moment.
PM me and I'll email them to you or get him (IRPSSS) to send them.
Duncan

The pic with dashboard shows below heater controls the switch and i also have original ac operating paperwork for inside the car or glovebox.

this is everything you need to get plus a fan shroud if you use the clutch fan/pump

Awesome thanks Doug!

What are you fitting it to?

Any ideas on where to get the interior core and interior boxes from? I assume these are the important bits, as I also assume that all the hoses and engine bay bits (condensor etc) should be able to be sourced from other units/models.
