All that's left now is interior....exhaust....re wire.....tune....engineer.....rego. counting it down now.

Went to Tempe Tyres to get measured up for the Simmons. Who F%cking cares if they're not the original simmons. Obviously i dont.

And it ended up looking like this. Typically, people living in Sydney (as Derek form Datsport will tell you), run polished or silver FR simmons with venetians in the back window. This is very true. Keeping in mind that i want this whole build to be different from what anyone else has done, I decided to go gloss black FR's with polished outer lip. I am really suprised with the offset on the rear. it looks borderline mini tubbed. very happy with the end result. Looks fantastic with the black brakes and black rotor hubs. The old saying "wheels make a car" really proved it's point in my case, i was getting lazy with the build, just drinking and starring at it. Getting the wheels on and having a glimpse at what the final finish will be like, really made me pull my finger out.

'68/69 1/4 vents. couldnt bring myself to install plastic vents, even though i have a '71

I also had the cage done. 4 point with box bracing running along sills to strengthen front end (as recommended by engineer). I also had the the factory seats mounts cut out and custom jobbies welded in.

Sound deadening right throughout cabin. went on very easily, makes such a huge difference. yes, it's adding lots of weight, but a 1600's kerb weight isn't exactly a downfall from factory to begin with. Plus aiming for 500+hp at the wheels, needs all the weight it can get as far as i'm concerned

W2A intercooler from Plazmaman. Will post up pics shortly of install. took a few goes for mounting in between FJ and big arse PWR radiator. Had to modify the freakin inlet plenum yet again, but this was the final mod i hope. The W2A will run a 3 core ally rad and EWP in the spare wheel well, reservoir (with inbuilt tank for dry ice) in engine bay, and HUGE 1'' lines from front to back. F$ck me those lines are sooo big.

Plazmaman 72mm Throttle. very nice.

S13 wiper motor install. so simple to do, ask if you have any questions. Cost $40 to chrome motor body and used left over body paint on mount. adaptor plate made myself from 2mm ally plate. excuse photo quality

Got rid of the Saas seats i bought on sale, and bought something decent. Sparco R100's, on sale. Dont take notice of the colour scheme, will be re trimmed in leather.

from this..

Finally finished the fuel system. MEGA expensive and a MEGA pain in the ass to install. Sooo time consuming. I'll add some more photos next week once it's on the hoist for exhaust. The price of AN fittings is ridiculous.

- -8 teflon braided hose
- Aeromotive A100 pump
- Carter black life pump
- 3L surge tank from a fabricator on eBay
- Aeroflow filters (the one pictured won't be left suspended by hosing)
- SX fuel reg
- 2000cc Xspurt injectors
- fuel rail from Mad Dat
- 180B tank

Started the gauge collection. purchased the speedo and tacho first off, 4" Speedhut items. Rest will be 52mm gauges from Howard Instruments in the same style. Also bought the 3 pod centre console from gilson motorsports. very nice.

considering i bought a few boxes of it, and it's on the roof and floor, i think it will add around 20-30kg.

looks wicked, that's some pretty serious strengthening there haha did you do it yourself? did you strengthen else where? did you use hard line adapters to connect the braid to the tank or something?

Cheers,

Richard

hey richard, the workshop who fabbed the cage did the strengthening at the same time.

elsewhere, would be just the usual stitch welding along front chassis rail and strut towers when it was in primer stage.

i don't understand what you mean by hard line adaptors?

i have thought about stitch welding and that but still undecided haha. How did you connect the braid to the hard line or did you run braid all the way?

Cheers,

Richard
