Ah, yes the problem would exist with all V8's....big statement...... because of the shape of the engine.

There is a webpage on the net of some dude who went to great lengths to modify all of the steering to accomodate a V8 Toyota engine in a 240C 230 series. I dunno if he ever finished it. Quite a work of engineering. Not for the faint hearted though.
from memory i think his username on here was PRO240c

After doing the water pump and radiator I've decided to leave it as is.I might take it up to Goulburn for the Dat Nats and give it a burl around Wakefield. After removing the hubcars first!

ok its been a few months and darryl has been sitting in the shed being bored, so i got him out and gave him a wash and a tune up.Then i spotted a set of wheels that i quite liked so i jammed them on,just waiting for my Nismo centre caps to hide the original brand name on them and fitted a longer set of wheel studs so the nuts did thier job.Took him for a spin and the handling has improved tenfold, no longer do the door handles scrape on the asphalt when taking a slight bend in the road! I will post a pic once i get the aforementioned centre caps.

That is all.

Judging by the laughter you to have been the captain of your boat through some bends.I used to take seasick pills before heading down the street.

Ok guys my centre caps finally arrived and i was all keen to put them on and give darryl a good wash this arvo and get a photo of her with the sunset lighting making her lines all swoopy and arty like. But alas around lunch time when i was at work, an elderly gentleman decided it would be a good idea to park his falcon in the side of Darryl, stoving in the rear quarter.I dead set could of strangled the doddery old bugger.....hopefully his insurance will cough up for the repairs......

If not my initial plans of Matte black with a heavy metalflake red roof might come into fruition along with a massive lowering job.only time will tell.

Good news everybody!!! Darryl is booked into the repair shop to get the unintentional custom bodywork fixed!!!After some negotiations with the insurance company (the old codgers, not mine) it was decided that they would cough up for repairs.YAY!

Should be ready mid August so i can take it to the South Coast Nationals at Moruya on the south coast at the end of august.

Midly stoked.

I went out today to see how the repairs are going at the panel beaters.Darryl was sitting there on the rack all covered in dust and half finished and sad in general.
On the bright side they reckon next week it'll be ready.Just in time for some springtime cruising:)
