10" wide wheels give enough grip to give us some reasonable lap times...
Winton 1:32's
Wakefield Pk 1:07's
Mallala 1:17's

Just to list a few.

Super tidy race car you have there! Care to share any of the mechanical details or are those kept pretty guarded?

Nice 1600, bet she rips around tight tracks like winton with those 10" slicks
Are you still running a l20b?
Would you share some details about the engine and its power level?

I am building a full house l20b for improved production, it would be nice to know what to aim for!

Yes you're right 'Bobs your uncle' we did source a CA engine from Steve at efi Hardware which is ear marked for our new car in which we have been piecing together for some time now, never seem to be enough time to work on the new car as such when we are in the middle of racing program with our current car. Below are a few shots of the new car to date though the flare kit will be changed to the same as our current car to house the 10" rubber.

The current car has been a 19 year development program as such to get it to where it stand today, these many years we as a team have put in many hours & late nights that has resulted in lots of high's and low's! With things tried that has worked and also failed. Many race wins in the end along with heaps of nowhere-Ville’s as well but surprising few DNF's. We try to work on the 5 'P' principal, this strategy seemed to have worked for us, taking 4 championship wins with this car - it's sort of a trophy in it's self now.

Thanks guys, we believe it's a pretty neat car and that I pride my self in presenting a good neat tide racecar. This car does run only a L20B engine though very refined on 48mm Webers, though in reality it's under-powered on the track in straight line but has a very good bottom end and mid range (would make an awesome street engine), the gearbox is basically a 280ZX, though it has a set of close ratio Albins gears in it, and a well tuned chassis and brake system. A brief run down of the car is posted on my Drivers profile page on 2litre web site - http://www.2litress.com/car1.php

The power output I am reluctant to quote because we really do not know what it is....it just works!

I spotted this yellow 2door on this forum back a while..... and just recognised your workshop in the background ...
So, is this to be car #3 for the race track?
btw Can you confirm rumours that it has a "blue-printed FJ20" and is nearly ready for the dyno?

Cheers

Your are correct, that is our workshop...

The yellow 2 door is a friends car that I have spend a fair bit of time on, fully rebuilding the undercarriage, wiring, engine fit up... etc etc. No this is not to be race car #3, I can confirm this car has a FJ20 that has been fully rebuilt and once we have finished setting up the Autronic, the FJ will be ready to fire-up and go through the tune process.

below is the link to Wayne's thread on this car plus a few more shots:

Unbelievable stable of cars you have there, your red/white 1600 is immaculate, I love race cars that are presented to such a high standard like that.

Just added the shots (so they are all together) that I had posted in 'Datsun Photos - Racing Shots' on page 2 mid way down...

As it appears we can not link to my actual post on that thread.

I would be very curious to know what kind of mechanical failures you have had with driveline components.
And what you recommend to remedy these. I understand if you don't wish to answer, but I would like to learn from your "19 year development" if you wish to share!
