I cut the inlet ports of the manifold, they looked like more hassle than they worth.

Be interested to see how you attach inlet manifold now

I have a few sh*t pics on my computer that I will upload when I get to camp.
The manifold really just bolts up like standed but the problem is the front housing outlet fouls on the intake manifold so it needs to be rotated and the actuator remounted

got a bit done the last few days. i/c is in with piping, turbo has been plumbed up with earls sh*t  just have to finish the exhorts, secure the i/c and radiator.
not overly happy with the turbo piping but it will do for now.

Epic! I'd love a 1200 sedan. Even with just an L20 in it it'd go like a rocket!

I think if you get a z series water pump, crank pulley and alternator bracket it gives you more clearance to the radiator. That is very very close!
I killed a radiator a few years ago when i braked hard the engine moved forward on the mounts and the water pump pulley hit the radiator. Made a mess

i think the z series is the same as the l4. i did put a l6 crank pulley on with water pump but it was to hard to get the radiator past the i/c without damaging them so i have made a blanking plate and fit an ewp (not a fan of ewp but no choice)

According to Zac510 in his KA24e head conversion page the Z20 waterpump is shorter than the L4 one
Taken from
http://www.ozdat.com/membersites/zac510/

"By accident I found out that the Z20 water pump is 'shorter' in it's height from the timing cover than a standard L-4 cylinder water pump. This was an exciting find! I wish I knew this when I had my L20b turbo engine as radiator to water pump clearance was minimal with an intercooler fitted. The shorter Z20 pump allows an extra few cms of space in front of the engine."

Might be of use to you?

cool. i have had my z18et one next to the l18 and it was the same but if the z20 is shorter than the l6 i will defiantly get one. i still have room between the head and the fire wall so when have some time i might slot the mounts and move the engine back an inch

Gee and I thought my bay was full with all my Lpg stuff.

Could always turn down boost and just not run an intercooler. Vl turbo style

i almost went that way but it all fits JUST. I'm going to have a custom i/c made s 2.5'' core with same side 2'' outlets but this will do for now. i have 2 more days of working on it before i go back to work and when i get back its of to cairns for Christmas :giggle: setting myself up for an epic fail :woohoo:

the i/c is now bolted in and painted black 8) i also couldn't help myself and started it up with no exhorts and man it sounds good so much more responsive.
