Good to hear the car is staying close to the original owner. Then he knows who to buy it off when it <may> be up for sale again
On a serious note, keen to hear of some updates on this beast.

Thanks guys, so a bit of a rundown on the changes since I bought this from Trav:

Exterior:
69 SSS grill and SSS badges
Muscle car parts repro bumpers

Interior:
SAAS seats, now Recaros
MOMO wheel, SSS wheel to be fitted after a freshen up
SSS dash

Motor/ Bay:
Datsun 1600 rocker cover
40mm chokes
MSD 6AL-2

Diff:
3.9 locked to 4.6 open

Next moves:
Build my coilovers- HSD sleeve kit,
S13 tops, z31 inserts, VLT calipers and VR4 slotted rotors

Rebuild stroker- have slotted in a fresh mild L20 for now

Dattos are never finished!

Travis has started a new project of his own, a sweet little 1000 coupe but I'll leave it to him to introduce it!

Are you going to throw in an adjustable rear end too?

I'm very slow to update on here!

Ok so the latest with the Datto is that I have bought an S15 SR20 Autech motor for it

The conversion will start in November after my brother in laws wedding because we are using the Dattos for the wedding

Would appreciate any diagrams or wiring advice for the Autech motor- I hear a few of the wires are different to the normal SR20DEs but can't find anything online about it

Looking forward to a nice smooth and economical motor that still has a decent amount of power for what it is

Still undecided as to whether to go 5 speed or 6 speed in it, I know about the speedo drive issue with the 6 speeds; has anyone gone from a 5 speed to a 6 speed or vice versa and is able to comment on the benefit or otherwise of the extra gear?

From what I understand the 6 speeds have a very short 1st gear, and then they are all reasonably close together after that, with a bit of a drop between 5th and 6th

Cheers guys!

Have also got it out of the garage a bit lately, looks good with the simmons widened and sitting very low, not the best for handling or tyre wear but you get that!

It does look great with the Simmons. What size are they?

Thanks mate! 7.5" rear, 6" front

Inner guard mods required on the rear to fit due to the low offset

Looks great mate. B45's look sweet. To be honest I haven't always liked these rims but you are pulling it off mate.

nice choice of motor! I have one in mine 1600. thought it was a bit dull at first compared to normal DE I had but with a good change of exhaust its poked right up and really love it now!

I'll try help out in the wiring if i can (I should be able to) but i used an s14 wiring looom not the s15 one. I'm a bit tired to wrap my head around what i did last year right now but i'm sure i got pinouts penciled up somewhere.

from what I remember the pinouts are mostly identical to s15det. shouldn't be to hard. i'll try find stuff or take photos in the next week (i'm on leave!).
