just wondering if anyone has bought those new 510 aftermarket exterior door handles?

any problems fitting? good chrome finish? etc

btw, are handles symmetrical? i.e front can go onto rear, both sides are the same?

:cheers

No the rears have different fittings on the back..
Rear NOS door handles are heaps hard to find. Most of the handles for sale are front ones (I think.. someone correct me if im wrong)
You need to get some parts off old rear ones and modify the NOS front ones so they fit on the rear.

Baz knows. Give him a call..

If you do it cna you post some pics because I also need to do this :-)

I bought NOS for the fronts and back. They are indeed different. The reason the rears are hard to find is they are NLA

I got a few pairs of fronts from yahoo japan - cost around the $80-$100 mark per pair including shipping and "rinkya" fees.

These were genuine Nissan spares and look very pretty :hail:

I bought a set of the ebay ones for my old mans car. Haven't gotten around to fitting them yet but I'm told all that is needed on the rear is to enlarge one of the holes to allow it to slip in.

If that is it then I don't have an issue with that if they physically look the same.

The rear handles have a different catch for the lock door catch in the rear door. So fronts are different to the back. The fronts will bolt in but the door will not open. Baz does have a mod if you want to use front handles.

i went through the seller's feedback to find ppl who had puchased the handles.

the history of sold items showed five, but i could only find one feedback left which seemed a bit sus straight up. the lone buyer left feedback of..

"slight grinding marks on edges of chrome, look at pictures before buying."

so, dont think i'll be purchasing anymore.

All Metal Bumpers @ Ingleburn, NSW are doing my chroming. $70 per handle. just stick with that i think.

I bought a set some time ago but haven't got to the stage of fitting them yet......and knowing me didn't provide feedback as I'm slack at times

took a real close look and one has a very slight flaw where their is a slight pit in the front of the handle that is under the chrome, you'd probably care if you were trying to win first place as a show car but I'll be buying another set for the rear doors and modifying rather than rechroming stockers.

Chrome work seems fine and can't fault mine

Also the feel of new is nicer when doing the opening and closing action compared with a 40yr old stocker (both off car) it seems a bit sloppy

I'd post a pic of the flaw but it's smaller than a grain of sand so getting it in a pic would be impossible

^ can you post a general pic of the handle? not close up or anything, the ebay photo seems to be a bit fake with lots of touch up going on. need to see it in the raw.

I purchased some for my Dad's 240z and My 1600.

Build quality is pretty good and looked right straight up.

None fitted. They were different lengths and size. The hing pins are much wider and require the holes to be made larger

They can be modded to work but just don't quite look right and the rubbers are all wrong.

When i contacted them with photos out of Ebay they refunded my money including postage and never asked for a return.

I think they don't want people to know. Also the 240z and 1600 were identical.
