I started with a worked L20B with twin SU's in my 1600, blew the motor and went to L20B with Twin 45's. Got sick of that and dropped in a Z18ET
Sold the car and bought a 1600 with ca18, sold that and now own a 180bsss with a worked fj20ET...
After doing all this i think back and realise i had the most fun with my L20B 1600, you can wake up, start the engine and rev it out in first gear to redline and it doesn't mean sh*t, take it on dirt, through massive puddles etc..
Thats why i have in my garage the following parts for when i return to a 1600 for my daily driver;
Series 2 bluebird motor (complete, rebuilt 11,000 km's ago, was pulled out of a old man's bluebird), stanza dogleg 5 speed box
Single 45mm weber on a L series manifold
Pacemaker extractors off the same bluey motor
2 and a half inch press bent exhaust with dump pipe
180b front struts with K-MAC adjustable camber cast inserts and springs, rear K-MAC springs
4 point roll cage
TRX rims with rubber and wheel nuts, plus some comfortable seats
So if i buy a stock one i'll just add all these parts and have some old school fun!
(sorry for the lengthy off subject post but i felt it was slightly relevant)
In Summary, you cant go past the all round toughness and sound of a L20B with webers!
Cheers
