Google has the info you need; Nissan halfshaft bolts PN 39628-E4100 Nissan halfshaft nuts PN 39627-N3000 Nissan halfshaft washers PN 08915-2401A Nissan halfshaft bolts PN 38228-21000 http://inzane240.blogspot.com.au/2014/0 ... stall.html Read the link thoroughly, as I only skimmed over it but those bolts appear to be common across models. |

Hey guy's has anyone heard of the beta motorsport shafts breaking ? A guy is selling a brand new set for $150 and he says he has heard they can break and that they are half the strength of stock datsun shafts. Apparently he bought them back in 2011 before Beta was bought by Wolf creek. |

I have seen broken ones on forums, my understanding is that it is the later ones as sold by wolf creek that are not up to scratch. I have a set on a Z and have had no issues to date. about to put another set on a 510, but I believe they are also from Beta motorsport not Wolf creek. It may have been a batch issue also? |

The guy selling said he had read somewhere of a guy who had them snap. He then had a rockwell hardness check and they were 50 percent softer than stock halfshafts. http://www.the510realm.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&p=253573 I just found this thread where they are saying they have recently changed from billet to forged steel making them 50 percent stronger. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/123159- ... r-failure/ Also found this thread where a guy has had them snapped, I can't view the pictures as I' m not a member on that forum. So I'm wondering if it's worth the risk, $150 is cheap as chips. My main concern would be if they did snap would they wreck the diff or make me crash. I guess lots of people have been running these stubs without any issues? I'm only planning on going SR20DE.. |

I think I'm just going to wait and get a set of the new stubs. In case anyone is interested I sent an email to WCR asking them the same thing and this was their response: Tom, We had heard of these issues and we have sourced a new supplier who does only driveline work including making custom axles for all kinds of on & off road vehicles. Here is a bit of a recap on the improvements we have made with our new STi Conversion Stub Axles. FutoFab has redesigned the Subaru STi conversion stub axles. We have included several improvements over the original Beta Motorsports units, ultimately making the FutoFab stub axle a stronger part. Our axles are machined from heat treated forgings made of 1541H steel. These forgings are roughly 50% stronger than a standard OE axle. The flanges are forged onto the shaft which flows the grain of the steel into the flange. This adds strength at the flange to shaft transition. The steel grain, when machining from a billet is cut at the transition point, lowering its overall strength when compared to using a forging. The Beta Motorsports stub axles were machined for a steel billet and do not have the higher strength benefit of being made from a forging. The forgings we use are heat treated (hardened) before machining. The heat treating process penetrates the surface leaving the core material closer to an untreated hardness (roughly 20). Rockwell hardness tests were performed on a test sample we machined to final finish dimensions. This was done to assure proper hardness was retained after machining. Typically axles have a hardness ranging from 55-60. Our testing showed acceptable results, ranging from 54 to 56 depending on the test location. To identify a FutoFab STi conversion stub axle, look for a round not square flange. We are in a transition period and will have the new design available to fill orders by June 15th. The new design axles will sell for $550/pair. Dave Patten, Owner |

I also use them on my L28 240z and inspect them every couple months when I swap diffs for different tracks. Mine have no evidence of the twisting visible in the pics above but will have a closer inspection next time. I got mine from Beta Motorsports some time in 2012 from memory. |
