Which summernats you trying to make? lot of work to do to make this one. You must have plenty of time off. No way id be able to make to this years one if my car was at the stage yours is. Its taken me 3 years to do a turbo and cooler change  . Good luck with the build

Mate

I threw in the towel a few months back about making the Nats this year... new goal is Easternats next year. At the moment it is looking pretty good! I have a month off in a few weeks so will give it a good go!!!

Heres are some more photos.... I think it must have been special Ed class the day the rust repairs were done on this car.. Hopeless I say!!!!

New.. well old rear that will be going on.... in tip top condition too....
[ img ]

Passenger sill removed... it was really bad.... should have seen the excess mig wire inside the sill from rust hole repairs... hopeless!!
[ img ]

Check out this rust repair... just tack a bit of metal on back.. not even the right shape and then just fill with filler from other side... NICE!!
[ img ]

CHeck these out.. personal favourite.. pictures show each side of the rust repair which was cut out.. like the shape of the patch? Cut it out and hand made patch welded in...

Lastly, rolling the lip on the inside of the wheel arch. Can I actually get a bigger tyre in there than 205 now... most likely not huh!!!

Cheers

ok, so here is the shell with the new sill on.... looking good I must say.. and the new left quarter and the rear panel sitting on getting aligned. Appears everything it lining up pretty darn well.

When the half arsed repairs were cut out the rear of the car made a popping sound where it must have moved to it original postion. Everything is looking good!!!

I wish I could say I am the one with the talent.. but I am not. A good mate is where 99% of it is... I am the orange boy... although when its sanding time I may be the man.... unlucky!!!

Update

Rear nearly completed!!!

You can see from this photo where the boot floor was cut and the new rear welded in. It has come up a treat, very happy.

Couple of photos with boot on checking alignment...

Inlet plenum, fuel rail, and 75mm throttle arrived! Pretty darn good, a lot better than expected. Only problem might be how close the plenum goes to the break booster etc, but wont know until dummy up engine bay!

Turbo kit ordered, also going to Powerbond harmonic balancer, new coils, 1000cc injectors...

All happening now!!

Not telling........ actually cant remember, have to check VISA but $140US shipped!!

They are definitely better than the metal originals I had, and really if you dont like the carbon fibre look they can be painted over!!

Pretty well made, I am happy!!

Cheers
