Hey that looks familiar! Good to see it's still out and about. Marks a top bloke, he can buy a car off me anyday.
I'm keen to see yours on a cruise to Mate, it's looking fantastic.

Mark is a great guy....
I'll be in Sydney with the Datto in May.. so will definitely be hooking up with the SDC and some cruises.
Depending on circumstance, I might drive all the way from WA to NSW to end up on the NSW to SA cruise :P

We'll see.

Wow, last post in March.. just before I left for NSW. Busy busy with work so haven't really done much.
Small bits here and there with a few problems along the way.

Finally fit the front spoiler properly.

Nice work Ryan, were the sun visors a direct bolt in?

Cheers,

Trent

I came back to Ozdat to find out where I sourced my headlining from the original build, so I'm going to scour my posts.

10 years since the last post :)
It's back in for a birthday. Rust, gearbox rebuild, engine forged/rebuild... and some upgrades.

The Datto has been a daily for many years, rain/hail or shine. Track days, you name it.

It's getting new steel fenders, steel bonnet, lower front door skins (hand made), rear door skins, rear quarter panels, taillamp panel, rear lower valance, side sills, wheel arches, inner lower trunk panels, RH lower "A" pillar.
Nearly everything but the floor and the roof!!

Yeah when I first built it, I moved weeks later to Sydney, trained it across and for 4 or 5 years was a daily. My wife drove it mostly and I rode the CBR1000RR.
Then back to Perth and had a few years of weekend and track days only, then daily again the last ~2 years.

Engines weeping from everywhere, but has got over 100K on it...
Have a rebuilt gearbox, was able to replace the damaged/worn shift forks, gears, synchros, bearings, even the counter shaft from Partsouq, Nissan Genuine.

Here's just a couple of yesterdays progress pics...

There's tonnes of pictures I've been sent, plenty of fabrication on inner sills, etc. The body is all clipped together ready to weld, I'm off to take a look Monday before they start. They then showed me the difference in the rear door handle recesses. The repro panel is shaped differently, so it looks like they will be cutting the recess out of the original door and replacing it so the profile matches the front doors.
